STEP AHEAD FROM SELF RELIANCE TO SELF SUFFICIENCY
STEP AHEAD FROM SELF RELIANCE TO SELF SUFFICIENCY (BY OUR PM NARENDER MODI JI ON 12MAY 2020)
The meaning of the word self-reliance has changed in the world, the definition of self-reliance has changed in the Global World. The discussion of Human-Centered Globalization versus Centralized Globalization is in full swing. India's fundamental thinking, a ray of hope is seen in front of the world. The culture of India, the rites of India, speak of the self-sufficiency whose soul is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. (is a Sanskrit phrase found in Hindu texts such as the Maha Upanishad, which means "the world is one family")
India's self-sufficiency concerns the happiness, cooperation, and peace of the world. The culture that believes in the world, who wants only the welfare of the living, who considers the whole world as a family, who thinks of 'motherland: sons and souls' in their faith, who believes the earth as mother, that culture, That Bharatbhoomi, when it becomes self-sufficient, also ensures the prospect of a happy-rich world.
India's progress has always contained the progress of the world. India's goals impact, India's actions impact the world, the picture of the world changes. Be it TB, malnutrition, polio, India's campaigns have an impact on the world. The International Solar Alliance is India's gift against Global Warming. Today, India's medicines reach new hope in the world fighting for life and death. With these steps, India is praised all over the world, so every Indian is proud. The world is beginning to believe that India can do very well, can give a lot of good for the welfare of mankind. The question is - how? The answer to this question is also - the resolution of 130 crore countrymen for a self-reliant India.
This magnificent building of self-reliant India will stand on five Pillars. The first pillar economy is an economy that brings a huge jump, not incremental change. The second pillar infrastructure is one that becomes the hallmark of modern India. The third pillar - our system - a system that is based not on the technology, but on the Technology-Driven systems that fulfill the dreams. Fourth Pillar - Our Demography - Our Vibrant Demography is our strength in the world's largest democracy, the source of our energy for a self-reliant India. Fifth Pillar-Demand: The cycle of demand and supply chain in our economy, the power that needs to be harnessed to its full potential.
To increase demand in the country, to meet demand, every stake-holder of our supply chain needs to be empowered. We will strengthen our supply chain. To increase the GDP which will further lead to an increase in national income, GDP is basically calculated by the production, income, and expenditure, increase in production means more employment and employment is directly proportional to rise in the standard of living the better the standard of living.
Facing the Corona Crisis, I am announcing today a special economic package with a new resolution. This economic package will serve as an important link in the 'Self-reliant India Campaign'.
Through all this, various sections of the country, the links of the economic system, will get the support of 20 lakh crore rupees, will get support. This package of 20 lakh crore rupees which is equivalent to 10% GDP,will give a new impetus to the development journey of the country in 2020, the self-reliant India campaign. Land, Labor, Liquidity, and Laws have all been emphasized in this package to prove the resolve of self-reliant India.
This economic package is for our cottage industry, home industry, our small-scale industry, our MSME, which is a source of livelihood for millions of people, which is the strong foundation of our resolve for a self-reliant India. This economic package is for that laborer of the country, for that farmer of the country who is working day and night for the countrymen in every situation, every season. This economic package is for the middle class of our country, which pays taxes honestly, contributes to the development of the country. This economic package is for the Indian industry, which is determined to give a boost to the economic potential of India. Starting from tomorrow, for the next few days, you will be briefed by the Finance Minister in detail about this economic package inspired by the 'Self-reliant India campaign'. It is now imperative for the country to move forward with the commitment of Bold Reforms to create a self-reliant India. You have also experienced that due to the reforms that have taken place in the last 6 years, today even in this time of crisis, India's systems have looked more efficient, more efficient. Otherwise, who could have thought that the money that the Government of India will send, it will reach the entire poor in the pocket of the farmer? But it happened. That too happened when all the government offices were closed, the means of transport were closed. This was just a reform related to Janadhan-Aadhaar-Mobile-JAM Trishakti, the effect of which we have just seen. Now the scope of the reforms has to be broadened, giving a new height.
These reforms will be in the entire supply chain related to farming so that the farmer is also empowered and will have the least impact on agriculture in any other crisis like corona in the future. These will be for reforms, Rational tax system, simple and clear rules-of-law, good infrastructure, capable and competent human resources, and building a strong financial system. These reforms will encourage business, attract investment and strengthen our resolve of Make in India
Self-reliance also prepares the country for stiff competition in the global supply chain. And today it is the need of the hour that India should play a big role in the global supply chain in every event. Realizing this, many provisions have also been made in the economic package. This will increase the efficiency of all our sectors and also ensure quality.
The Corona crisis has also explained to us the importance of Local Manufacturing, Local Market, Local Supply Chain. In times of crisis, Local has completed our Demand, this Local has saved us. Local is not our only requirement but our responsibility. Time has taught us that the Local must make us his life mantra.
The Global Brands you feel today were also very local like this rightly said by our PM choose made in India products and when people started using them, started promoting them, branding them, proud of them, they became Global from Products, Local. Therefore, from today every Indian has to become a vocal for their local, not only to buy local products but also to promote them proudly.
JAI HIND, JAI BHARAT
